Old growth rainforest in danger in Cameroon

U.S-based Herakles Farms has been seeking to replace 37,000 hectares of old growth rainforest in Cameroon with a palm oil plantation. However, opposition on the ground has garnered international support, and under the harsh light of public scrutiny, the project is beginning to flounder. Gwen Schulman speaks with Anuradha Mittal, the Executive Director of the Oakland Institute, which has played a key role in demonstrating the corruption, duplicity and intimidation that have underpinned the Herakles Farms project.
